Nick's coffee career began in London back in 2006, when he and his siblings (Andrew and Laura) launched Taylor St Baristas. Taylor St went on to become a trailblazer in the UK specialty coffee scene, growing to 10 sites (including one in New York) and boasting a proprietary training program that launched the careers of some of the country's most esteemed coffee professionals.
Nick was also founder/CEO of Harris + Hoole (from 2012 to 2015), a specialty coffee Joint Venture between Taylor St and Tesco plc. Harris + Hoole grew to become one of the world's largest specialty coffee chains, launching over 50 sites in under 3 years and 3-times winning the industry award for "Best Coffee Chain in UK & IE".
Prior to coffee, Nick worked as a management consultant in Sydney. He has a BA/BEc from the Australian National University and an MBA from INSEAD.
As founder and CEO of Taylor St Baristas, I worked closely with my co-founders (Andrew, my brother, and Laura, my sister) to develop the business into something meaningful for our customers, team and the wider specialty coffee community
As founder and CEO, I helped to create a chain of specialty cafes In many ways, it was the first of its kind, recruiting and training 100's of baristas and deploying at a speed and scale unseen in the world of specialty coffee
