Improving coffee workers occupational safety and health

Drivers and constraints for OSH improvement in the coffee global supply chain
CKH Online May 2, 2023 FREE

Lecture Overview

The International Labour Organization’s Vision Zero Fund works to improve occupational safety and health (OSH) in the coffee supply chain. Research on drivers and constraints for OSH improvement has been conducted in Vietnam, Colombia, Honduras, Mexico and Laos. Findings have informed social dialogue processes in which governments, employers, workers and other relevant stakeholders jointly developed and implemented interventions to reduce the exposure of women and men in the coffee supply chain to safety and health hazards, improving producers’ productivity and the lives and working conditions of millions of coffee workers. Join this session to learn about the findings, interventions and results to date, and to discuss how collective action can help to ensure safer and healthier working conditions for coffee farmers around the world.
