The EU aims to become carbon neutral by 2050 while redefining the role and responsibilities of business to better align the interests of shareholders, stakeholders and society. These ambitious goals have led to a host of new proposals and regulations that have been published recently on topics such as human rights due diligence or deforestation-free supply chains. The sheer volume of regulations and the enormous requirements that companies are expected to implement can be paralyzing. This presentation will highlight key developments for the coffee industry in the area of sustainability-related regulations, provide an overview of the requirements, and outline possible next steps. The goal is to help the audience identify issues that are relevant to them and thereby enable them to address their implementation at an early stage.
