Despite the significant role women play in the coffee supply chain, they face many challenges with regards to access to land, resources, training and income in many countries. Challenges are also faced by people of colour and other marginalised groups. When marginalised people are empowered with knowledge and are able to make technical and management decisions, they are able to find solutions to many challenges.

This panel consists of leaders of various organisations that are working to bring about social equity in the coffee value chain. Each organisation has its own unique model and the panel discussion will stimulate conversation on what has worked for each organisation and what challenges each of them face.
